Back to school with a boost: Marksbury School celebrates its OFSTED report
Pupils and staff at Marksbury Church of England Primary School are celebrating the start of the new school year with a successful OFSTED inspection.
The village school, located 7 miles south of Bath, and 5 miles from Keynsham was praised for being nurturing and academically ambitious and awarded a ‘Good’ rating following an inspection in July.
The inspectors noted:
“Marksbury CofE Primary School is at the heart of the local community it serves. Pupils describe the school as a ‘massive family’, where everyone is friendly and welcoming.” And “The school is ambitious for what all pupils can achieve… Pupils display positive attitudes to their learning. They are keen to share their knowledge and take a pride in their work.”
Head Teacher, Julie Player, says:
“We are delighted that the OFSTED inspectors were able to value the school for its friendly and welcoming nature. In particular they noted that our staff know each pupil, enabling them to feel “safe and cared for”, which is something we strive for as a staff team.”
Carole Allen-Smith, Chair of Governors, says:
“The OFSTED visit was a success for all. As well as noting how well the children are supported in their learning it was wonderful to see the Inspectors acknowledge the more playful side of the school. I’m delighted that they highlighted how well the children of all ages play and socialise together.”
Marksbury School is one of 17 schools which are supported by The Partnership Trust, a Multi-Academy Trust based in Radstock.
Emily Massey, CEO of the Trust, says:
“It’s thanks to all the staff and the local governing body at Marksbury that they have achieved such a successful OFSTED report. It’s great to see that the Inspectors have highlighted the ambition the school has for each of its pupils and how carefully staff monitor each child’s academic progress.
“It is also wonderful to note that that staff have commented how much they enjoy the opportunity to collaborate with their peers across all of the schools in the Multi Academy Trust. Working in partnership to ensure the best possible outcomes for children is an integral part of our organisation.”
